Always switch off the electricity at the wall before cleaning. While many think cleaning is purely aesthetic, grease buildup is a major cause of oven fires. Additionally, using incorrect cleaning chemicals on heating elements can cause "hotspots" that lead to premature failure.

Cooker oven cleaning is important as it can avoid foul smells or worse some and even fire from burning spills and grease, its always best to refer to your manufacturers instructions for any cleaning and maintenance needs for you make and model.

Ensure you turn the electric off from the oven prior to cleaning to ensure safety, keeping elements clean could prolong life of them s hotspots can occur if grease spots form on them and without a doubt cleaning the fan regular will keep it functioning correct avoiding fan failure and even element failure due to a failing fan allowing element to overheat.

You will also need to read up on how to remove the doors from the cooker oven and to then remove the glass from the doors to allow thorough cleaning.

As with anything its always best to clean ovens as you go along clean any spillages when they happen and its safe to do so, and give the oven a good clean over with  Fairy power spray  weekly.

• Control Knobs: These usually pull straight off, allowing you to clean the "gunk" that accumulates behind them on the front facia.
