I use a very small set of tools for repairing appliances which is excellent for me as i do not like having to carry around lots of tools. Installing appliances is a bit different and you need a lot more tools.
This is my small repair tool set up
First of all you need a good tool bag i like the CK magma back pack
Fluke 115 multimeter
Vise grip pliers VDE for working on electrics safely
Wera allen key sets both hex and torx
Wera VDE screwdrivers for working safely on electrics
Bosch 10.8v twin pack drill and impact set, excellent for dismantling things quickly
Other tools
Bosch SDS drill for installation work
Insulation resistance testing a must for finding electrical tripping problems
